Egypt: Postage Dues: 1889 4m. maroon pair tied to face of 1897 envelope from Tanta to Cairo franked 1888 1m. brown on reverse, underpaying by 4m. the domestic letter rate, the letter could not be delivered and the postage dues were invalidated with boxed “T” handstamps and the letter forwarded to Wadi Halfa, Sudan where the postage due was paid with two pairs of 1889 2m.
