Egypt: Air Crash Covers: 1936 (Aug. 22) Scipio crash at Mirabella Bay, attractive printed commercial envelope with one stamp washed away but 3m. remaining, to France and with fine and bold strike on face of "Accident d'Avion" in violet, resealed on reverse with French Postes et Telegraph printed paper tape, good condition and a scarce cachet type. Egypt: Air Crash Covers: 1937 (Oct. 1) Courtier crash at Phaleron Bay, attractively franked cover to Athens with nine stamps, another washed away, with 1d. Greek postage due neatly tied to face, good strike of Greek/French bilingual framed cachet struck in turquoise-blue alongside on front, good condition. Egypt: Air Crash Covers: 1937 (Oct. 1) Courtier crash at Phaleron Bay, three covers to U.K., showing framed "DAMAGED BY SEA-WATER"; framed two line "DAMAGED BY SEA/WATER" and framed "DAMAGED BY/SEA WATER/IN AEROPLANE/ACCIDENT", all struck in violet, first has franking washed away but clearly dated by postmarked, other two with 20m. remaining but all three have the fugitive ink offset from where 8m. stamps once were. A fine trio from this crash. Respectively Nierinck 371001d, e and f. Last is Ex Jeidal.

Egypt: Air Crash Covers: Delayed By War: 1940 commercial cover with 'corner card' franked 30m. per K.L.M. to Winterswyk, Holland, censored with resealing strip, affixed cyclostyled Dutch P.O. label "Amsterdam Maart 1948" and Dutch to say delay in receipt due to circumstances of war, good condition. Scarce and attractive item. With article explaining that due to the German invasion and chaos some mails in transit were stored in a remote French castle for the duration - and forgotten about until February 1948 when rediscovered. Then finally delivered in March of that year, eight years after posting. Photo. (Image1)
