Egyptian Post Office in Hejaz 1878 Dec 18 envelope to Cairo, bearing 1874-75 Bulaq printing 1pi red (S.G. 381) cancelled by blue "Poste Khedevie Egiziane/ Gedda" c.d.s (Jexkull type Gc), another strike adjacent, blue "Poste Egiziane/Suez" transit (Dec 27) and black "Poste Egiziane/Cairo" arrival c.d.s (Dec 28) on reverse. cover tear extends into stamp, Only two covers recorded with single 1pi franking of this issue.
