1880 1d red, a remarkable group of five vertical marginal strips of 10, each with complete side inscription and central rosette, comprising matching 'FA-OA' from plates 201, 215, 216 and 217, and 'FL-OL' from plate 218, o.g. with lovely rich colours and most stamps unmounted. 1938-51 mint Plate block collection in blue stockbook, collected for printings so with duplicated numbers. ¼p (25 plus a pair), ½p green (9), ½p violet (4), ¾p, 1p (15), 1½p carmine (2 plus two other blocks), 1½p violet (4), 1½p green (3 plus another), 2p (16), 2½p (imprint block), 3p (18), 4p (7), 4½p (8), 6p (5 plus imprint block, Plate no pair and another block), 9p (16 plus four further blocks, two being imprints), 18p (5 including two 8.47 printings, plus four further blocks), 45p (one, plus sheet number pair and four singles), 90p (two corner blocks, top right and lower left) and £1 (unnumbered Plate block, imprint block hinged on top pair only, two different corner singles with vignette Plate 2 and a single). A dream lot for the specialist, with many blocks dated on the selvedge ex the SG reference collection, but with plenty of scope for expansion. The great majority of the blocks appear unmounted.
