1899, ESTADO INDEPENDENTE DO ACRE, 300 Reis orange and green, mint ungummed, postage stamp issue for the intended "Independent State of Acre" in the most western area of Brazil. These stamps were printed at Casa Monckes, Buenos Aires, the whole consignment was seized by the Brazilian Navy on its way by boat via Manaus to Acre and finally destroyed. Only one sheet of each stamp (sample for approval) with denominations 200, 300, 500, 800, 2000 and 5000 Reis have allegedly been preserved.
