1916 Belgian Occupation of German East Africa 40c. black & carmine block of four, used on registered cover (German private postal stationery envelope handstamped "Frankiert/mit 7 1/2 H") from Kigoma to Berne, Switzerland in 1918, each stamp tied by "KIGOMA/4 JA/18" double-ring d/s, Reg. label alongside, and on the reverse with Indian Field Post datestamp "F.P.O./No. 320/9 JA 18" of Tabora, Tangayika, also London Reg. cds of March 4th, and Bern '15.III.18' arrival cds. The top right section of the envelope was blackened in order to cover the German Imperial Seal handstamp, fine. A very uncommon cover. (Image)
