1930s-c.2000 MINT & USED COLLECTION: A box containing 4 albums, a stockbook & 3 packets with a well presented, part written up collection with many better sets, singles & miniature sheets, (e.g. MS797). Some duplication and gaps from more recent years but nevertheless a strong lot with much interest. Also includes a detailed specialist study collection of surcharge issues, (c1946), with comprehensive examples from different post offices and similar collection of pre-cancels, (c1875 to c1960s), along with a small collection of Belgian Congo. EARLY COVERS TO/FROM ITALIAN STATES - 1624 EX BRUSSELS + 1775 TO MEMINGEN "VIA OSTEND"; 18 Apr. 1624 EL (some edge wear and reinforced in places) from "Brusellas" to Genoa endorsed "[Fr]anca per Mantova" (first couple of letters lost with 'tongue' seal); plus very fine 1775 EL from Genoa to "Meminghen" with fair "GENOVA" charged "6" with clear "Via Ostend" endorsement on the front.
