Austrian Levant, 1869, a desirable pair of printed matters from the same correspondence, both sent by LLOYD/CONSTANTINOPOLI to BRAILA/Romania, because of the treaty July 1868 between Austria and Romania took effect at April 1869 the former rate of 2 sld was doubled by additional 2 sld for the foreign transport to Romania, the following two letters are the documentation for the old and new procedure, the first one is from the 24th Februar 1869, franked with one 2 sold/yellow/perf 14 with arrival of the Austrian Levante post office IBRAILA reverse, cert the second one from 10th April 1869 is franked by two 2 sld/yellow one with perf 14 and the other one with perf 9 was affixed at the post office due to the new tariff, this is one of two mixed franking of the issues 1863 and 1863/64 and the other one is to Trieste, with blue arrival BRAILA from the new Romanian post office, minor perf blemishes of V19 are of no relevance and just mentioned for full accuracy, both are very late usages of these stamps, illustrated GMACH/Vol. 4/p. 316, cert Enzo Diena, a magnificent and UNIQUE pair of printed matters for the high-end postal history collector, XF!
