Antarctica: Swedish Expedition 1901-04: 1901 (Dec. 30) eight page letter showing the expedition cachet in violet, handwritten to his sister by chemist Gšsta Bodman on the “Antarctic” headed “Syd Atlanten” and directing that incoming mail should be addressed c/o the “Swedish & Norwegian Consulate”, “Antarctic”, Port-Stanley, Falklands Islands”. Also two photographs of the rescue ship “Uruguay”, of unknown date. Anders Gustaf ‘Gšsta’ Bodman (1875-1960), expedition meteorologist and hydrographer, is commemorated by Bodman Point on the northwest coast of Seymour Island. Photo. (Image1)
