Antarctica: Second Byrd Expedition 1933-35: Selection incl. 1934 (Jan. 31) envelope to New York addressed by Carl Petersen, 1935 (Apr. 24) cover with S.S. “Jacob Ruppert” cancellation, delayed covers, postcards, photographs, also S.S. “Eleanor Bolling” cancellation on 1930 Byrd I envelope, etc. Norwegian born Carl Oscar Petersen (1897-1941), wireless radio operator and cameraman who also had expertise in skiing and dog sledding, accompanied Byrd on both his first and second expeditions.
