Antarctica: Scottish National Expedition 1902-04: Unaddressed expedition envelope bearing Falkland Islands 1/2d. cancelled by fine strike of large violet Argentine datestamp (Andrews A 1) “ORCADAS DEL SUR/20 FEB 1904/DISTRITO 24 (GALLEGOS)” with unframed oval Expedition datestamp and "OFICINA METEOROLOGICA/(arms)/ARGENTINA" cachet alongside, all in violet, by agreement between the official Argentine Postmaster and Robert Rudmose-Brown. A very small number of covers or cards, around 20 according to Harvey-Pirie who accompanied the expedition, were cancelled, amongst which very few indeed bore a Falklands adhesive. Photo. (Image1)
