Well formed virtually all mint housed in Scott album; starting with first issues with genuine among some reprints and additional multiples of the 5c values including blocks of 36, 19, 12, etc., 1869 Coat of Arms complete including scarce 500c value, later arms and portrait issue present with some varieties including Scott #37a, completion in 20th century lacking only the rare surcharges and again with some additional better varieties, highlights include 1916 2c inverted center perf (133c), the scarce 1928 red surcharge (Scott 183 with cert., cat $250) and black surcharges complete (cat $374), strong airmails with better Zeppelin issues including #C18, 19-20, 22, 24-26, 25a, later issues complete with additional imperf pairs, etc.; condition well above the norm.

France, Paris Star Cancellations and Ancillary Postal Markings On The Classic Issues of France, 1852-1876. Six frame exhibition collection well written up on pages, including approximately 130 covers and cards and hundreds of stamps of the period; starting with an introduction and a study of the Paris star cancel with an early 1852 cover usage followed by several cover to the U.S. and England, various other cancellation of the period shown including dotted, grid and large square dotted rollers, experimental 36 large square dot cancel on cover to Austria, followed by the various issues noting type I & II star cancels, the 39 Bureau numeral stars represented on the perf'd Empire and Laureated issues then reiterated on various issues inter dispersed with on cover usages including 3-color franking to Berlin, Prussia, 5fr Laureated with six off cover examples and on a three color franking registered cover, section of the hollow star cancels, similar representation of the following Ceres issue including Ballon Monte and foreign destination usages including 40c+80c pair usage to Veracruz, Mexico and a 1874 usage to Guadalajara, Mexico, section of each bureau cancellation on covers with highlights including 1867 cover to Melbourne, Australia, 1874 Monroe forwarding agent covers, 1872 & 1873 usages to San Francisco, Cal. and a 1864 folded letter to Mexico City, Ballon Monte cover to Switzerland and ending the era with 1876 Ceres combination registered cover to Boston, Mass (official end of the star cancel) and an off cover next (first) day; a fascinating collection with condition well above the norm.
