Palestine Mandate.1948 interim mail: 9 MY 1948 local QIRYAT MOTZKIN cover on "Mataf" stationary franked 10m per period letter rate using Haifa overprinteddouble imperforated (top/bottom) Partition Map stamp (Ba 30 - unlisted as such) & tied by full strike of both local interim postmark + dated Mandate 2-bar canceller (Dorf-2, rated C+; unusual on non-registered mail), making this a 2-period cover (Mandate postal serviced terminated completely by 6 May). Unsealed, very fine strikes.
Palestine Mandate.Interim period Haifa Head Post Office Mandate franked mail: local HAIFA registered cover from Consolidated Refineries Ltd. to Execution Officer, franked 26m per period registered letter rate (25m with 1m convenience overcharge) - using only Mandate pictorals, vertical pair 3m + 20m (Ba 91/99) & tied by full strike of interim dateless cancel of Head Post Office (with "divided ovals" on sides) + 2x on back - this in use only 10-14 May & rare when applied to non-interim franks; tied Sacher-unlistedlarge "REGISTERED" instructional marking handstamp on front + un-numbered registry-label as used at Head Post Office, here very low number (0031; 0010-0885 used in this period), as such probably posted 10 May: this overlays original manuscripted "registered [number] by hand" - last 2 words crossed out; backstamped next day HADAR HACARMEL Branch Office arrival using Mandate cancel GD-100 - this use possible during interim period; opened gently at back, tied by business cachet.
