1872 (May 2) Cover to Itzcani (part of Austria at the time) franked with 10b blue, and a 5b carmine, both Carol I with beard, perforated issue, cancelled by attractive single circle cds in blue of Botosani, with a second strike to the right, arrival on reverse dated 4 May; in June 1871 a Romanian post office was established in the Austrian railway station in Itzcani and all correspondence exchanged with Austria occurred from then through this post office (prior sent through Gara Roman post office); a very rare franking combination only made up with perforated stamps sent at the scarce border rate of 15 Bani to Itzcani, and possibly a unique combination with the Itzcani arrival cds of Romanian exchange post office in this city.
