Block of 20 made up of two complete vertical rows in sheet (positions 4-5//85-86), prominent flaws including position 14 with "BEAL" for "REAL" and position 86 with frameline broken at lower right corner, margins clear to in at upper right, deep color; internal split and tear affecting stamps in rows 7 & 8 and small tear at right side of row 8, F.-V.F. appearance, ex-Lund, with 2013 Moorhouse certificate.

Margins ample to touching at top left, showing full margin rule in sheet margin, tied by bold sharp "Franca" in dotted lozenge handstamp of Guayaquil on 1873 folded letter to New York City paying the 2r rate up to ¼ oz., with red "New York, Paid All, Oct 1" entry cds, with letter datelined "Guayaquil, Set 9, 1873"; vertical file fold between stamps, Very Fine, one of the latest, if not the latest usage of the first issue, as the second issue had already been introduced in late August of 1873, ex-Lund, with 2013 Moorhouse certificate.

All canceled by fancy "Chimbo" flower circular handstamps prior to being applied to Judicial front to Guaranda, positions 23-24 in strip also show portion of previous manuscript, manuscript "19½ oz" weight endorsement at top, F.-V.F., a rare Postal Fraud usage of the 1r yellow issue, one of two such first issue postal fraud usage known, ex-Saá and Longhi.

This cover was part of the Saá collection in Ecuador after its find in an Ecuadorian archive. It was subsequently sold to Florenzo Longhi in Italy.
