Egypt, 1874, 1pi vermilion Third Issue Government printing, tête-bêche pair (Scott 22ci), a spectacular left margin block of 20, with the rare perf 13½ x 12½, showing a vertical tête-bêche pair, positions 4 & 9; the basic perf type itself is a very difficult issue in its own right and, compounded by the tête-bêche variety in a block of this size, creates quite a showpiece; wonderfully fresh with nearly all stamps never hinged, Fine to Very Fine.
