Derbyshire/Shropshire. 1914-19 Covers and cards from Donington Hall (3), one unusually registered to London franked 3d; or from (4) or to Shrewsbury including 1915 and 1916 Christmas postcards and a postcard with printed Easter greetings, three with "P.C / SHREWSBURY", one with boxed "P.C" and separate "SHREWSBURY", the incoming postcard unusually from Brazil. Also a card to Weobley, a sub-camp of Shrewsbury. (9).

Dorset/Hampshire/Somerset. 1914-18 Covers and cards comprising 1914 stampless cover with violet "DORCHESTER" and oval "PRISONERS OF WAR / INFORMATION BUREAU"; 1914 stampless postcard from Aldershot, covers from or to (2) Connaught Hospital, Aldershot; cover from 5th Southern General Hospital at Portsmouth; 1914 stampless postcard from Southampton with "Prisoners of War Reception Depots" cachet, cover from Shirley Skating Rink, Southampton, and a postcard to Southampton; lettersheet from Sandhill Park near Taunton and a German parcel card to the camp; lettersheets from Blandford or the sub-camp at Fovant; card to Blandford and a cover to Blackdown. Berkshire/Hants/Surrey. 1914-18 Covers and cards comprising items from (4) or to (2) Holyport with a 1915 Christmas postcard and stamped cover both with oval camp censor, also unused 1916 Christmas postcard and a bundle label; 1914 stampless cover from Newbury with oval camp censor; 1914 postcard from Holland to Belmont Workhouse, Sutton, with violet boxed "Postal Censor" and "P.C. / M.O. 5(H)"; cover from Libury Hall with camp cachet; cover from Frith Hill and two postcards of the camp. Ireland. 1916 P.O.W covers from Oldcastle to London franked 1d, with red circular "PRISONERS OF WAR / P.C / OLDCASTLE" (2); and undated stampless P.O.W covers from Templemore to Germany (2), all fine. (4).

Isle of Man - Knockaloe. 1915-16 Covers comprising 3d size H registration envelope franked 1d pair to Holland, all tied by "THE CAMP, KNOCKALOE / PEEL" c.d.s, with camp registration label and censor cachet; and covers with "ALIENS DETENTION CAMP / KNOCKALOE / PEEL, ISLE OF MAN" printed in the lower left corner (2, differing sizes, one with O.H.M.S printed heading) both franked 1d to London, cancelled by Peel squared circle or Douglas machine. Three unusual covers, a few minor faults. (3).

Isle of Man. 1915-19 Covers and cards from Knockaloe Camp (6) or Douglas Camp (5), or to Knockaloe (11) or Douglas (3), including 1915 postcard from Hungary with violet "REPATRIATED" and black boxed "P.W.I.B / Repatrie / RETOUR / Return to Sender", card from Denmark endorsed "Transferred Feltham", 3d registration envelope from London, cover to Brazil with scarce small oval "KNOCKALOE ALIENS CAMP / 13 NOV 1916 / ISLE OF MAN", other oval named censor cachets of Knockaloe (8) or Douglas (5), a few small faults. Kent - Dartford. 1915-18 Stampless P.O.W covers from Dartford War Hospital (4) or Lower Southern Hospital, two with very scarce violet boxed censor cachets (with chamfered corners) reading "PASSED CENSOR / LOWER SOUTHERN HOSPITAL / DARTFORD" or "PASSED CENSOR / DARTFORD WAR HOSPITAL / DARTFORD". Also an unused Red Cross postcard of P.O.Ws at the hospital, and a 1916 cover from Russia to a British R.A.M.C Private at Dartford War Hospital redirected to Twezeldown Camp, endorsed "Not at" alongside the violet oval cachet "DARTFORD WAR HOSPITAL / 11 APR 1916 / DARTFORD". Northants/Warwickshire. 1916-19 Covers, lettersheets and cards from Eastcote or Pattishall near Toncester (10), postcards (2) and a German parcel card to Pattishall, an unused 1916 Christmas postcard, and two official Red Cross postcards advising that a P.O.W has been moved to Pattishall. Also a 3d registration envelope cancelled at Coventry with violet oval "PRISONERS OF WAR CAMP / P.C / REDFORD, COVENTRY", no cachets from this camp recorded in the book by Graham Mark. (17). Yorkshire. 1914-18 Covers, cards and a front from (20) or to (2) Lofthouse Park, Wakefield, including a lettersheet to Hungary unusually with a 30f postage due applied, cover to USA missent to Las Palmas, eight covers or cards franked ½d or 1d and a front franked 3d, two 1915 Christmas postcards (one unusually sent to Japan), thirteen bear named camp censors in four types (including scarce tiny double oval type). Also a 1914 cover from York franked 1d with red "PRISONERS OF WAR CAMP / YORK" and "P.C"; and a lettersheet from Catterick with oval camp cachet. (24).

1916-19 Covers and cards sent by French (5), Italian (22) or U.S (6) air force personnel, various cachets including 1916 card with "Detachement de l'Aviation Francaise / a Venise" and "AVIATION FRANCAISE D'ITALIE / LE COMMANDANT", 1918 cover with the cachet "AEROSTATION MARITIME / DIRIGEABLES DE BREST" incorporating a winged anchor, etc. Also associated cards (4) and an Italian pilot's medal award card. Germany. 1915-18 Covers and cards from air force personnel including the air ace Lt. W. Fehlbusch (2), etc., various cachets. (37).

1914-18 Covers and cards including 1917 cover from Havana to Sweden franked Cuba 5c endorsed from a P.O.W at Castillo del Morro; cover and cards from or to (2) Kumamoto Camp in Japan; covers from British or French P.O.W Camps in France; also facsimile P.O.W lettersheet produced for propaganda purposes and dropped over German lines by balloon, etc. (34).

British Empire. 1914-20 Covers and cards to or from German P.O.Ws, comprising 1914 cover to Germany from an internee in Diyatalawa Camp in Ceylon with a Ceylon censor cachet and a Dutch stamp cancelled in Rotterdam; 1914 stampless postcard from Germany to a P.O.W in Sierra Leone; 1917 Canada cover with "Passed by Internment Censor / Kingston, Ont."; covers from Aus, South West Africa (3); and covers or cards from Malta with oval or boxed cachets (4, three types of cachet). Also a stampless card from a Turkish P.O.W in Malta with oval cachet. (11).

Bulgaria/Austria/Russia. 1916-17 Covers and cards, from British P.O.Ws in Bulgaria (4); from or to British civilian internees in Austria (6); and two unusual stampless 1916 postcards apparently from a British Doctor, H.T Price, at Stretensk in Siberia, both sent to England as P.O.W mail. (12).

Egypt. 1915-20 Covers and cards from (6) or to (3) P.O.Ws or internees in Egypt, camps comprise Tura, Helouan, Sidi Bishr, Ras-el-Tin or Suez Segregation Camp, also an unused P.O.W card. (10).

France - P.O.W Ships. 1916-17 Postcard from a P.O.W on the hospital ship "La Navarre" censored at the P.O.W Depot at Carcassonne; cover from a P.O.W on the prison ship "Phryne" at Le Havre; and a registered cover from USA to a prisoner on the "Phryne" at Le Havre, censored at the P.O.W Depot at Oissel. (3).

Germany. 1914-18 Covers and cards from or to British or allied P.O.Ws or internees, including Ruhleben (5); cards from O. Nicholson, 2nd Officer on the S.S "Esmeraldas", from six different camps (16); also picture postcards of P.O.Ws or P.O.W camps, and two cards from Switzerland concerning money received for food to be sent to a British P.O.W. (60).

Gibraltar. 1914 Stampless covers from Austrian or German P.O.Ws with red circular "P.C", one with matching circular "POST FREE / PRISONERS OF WAR", the other with small violet "MAIL / CONTROL", a scarce and unusual pair. (2).

Hong Kong. 1914 (Sep 10) Stampless cover to Germany from "W. Stilke, 128, Hong Kong", reverse flap sealed with red wax impressed "TOWN MARSHALS OFFICE / (crown) / HONG KONG", the front with "HONG-KONG / IV" c.d.s, violet triangular "Letter Prisoner of War / Free under / Convention" and oval "PROVOST MARSHAL / HONGKONG" signed "A.E Hurles, APM", and red circular "POST FREE / P.C / PRISONERS OF WAR". An early P.O.W cover just five weeks into the war, the Provost Marshal cachet the scarce first type with four dots (instead of single small circles) at either side, the triangular cachet the first type with "Letter" and "Prisoner".
