1907 Small Papua Overprints applied at Brisbane (S. 1907 Horizontal watermark, 2½d black and ultramarine horizontal marginal pair, and 2½d black and dull blue, superb mint, the pair unmounted. With a copy of a B.P.A Certificate (1987) for a block of six, from which the pair has been removed. S.G. 35/a, £485. (3).

1928 (Nov 7) Parcel front to England, bearing Government Printing Office O.H.M.S address label tied by circular "GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE / PAPUA" dated cachet, endorsed "Book Post", franked by monocolour 1d and 2½d pair perfined OS tied by Port Moresby datestamps. An unusual Book Post rate item for a parcel of 10-12oz (at 1d per 2oz).

Postal History and Cancellations. 1903 (Oct 9) Registered cover from Port Moresby to Holland franked 1901-05 ½d, 1d and 6d, a Bahnpost Nr. 19 registration label applied in transit in Germany, backstamped at Brisbane and The Hague. Philatelic with three vertical folds (two crossing the ½d and 6d stamps), a scarce issue on cover.

1933 (June 12) Large registered cover from Port Moresby to England endorsed "Contents £2.10.0 in English Silver", reverse with "Treasury" wax seal, franked 1931 5d on 1/- pair and 1/3 on 5/- with type R16 registration label, backstamped at Brisbane and Adelaide. An uncommon commercial use of these 1931 surcharges, the cover a little reduced at left, otherwise fine.

1960 Postage Due Surcharges. 1d on 6½d Maroon, overprint trial, the overprint applied twice in black and once in red, superb unmounted mint, margin at left, very rare and unusual, with B.P.A Certificate (1984) stating "is a genuine printers proof but is of unknown status".
