1891-1901 Germany stamps (4) and pieces (10, bearing fourteen stamps), comprising 1890-99 2m dull rose singles with cancels of Tanga, Dar-Es-Salaam (3 pieces) or Kilwa (piece), strip of three on piece cancelled at Dar-Es-Salaam and 2m red-lilac on piece cancelled at Kilwa; 1899 10pf (2) and 50pf on piece with Dar-Es-Salaam c.d.s, 20pf with Bagamoyo c.d.s, and pieces with 5pf + 10pf or two 50pf stamps cancelled at Tanga; also 1901 piece with 1900 2pf grey cancelled at Bagamoyo. 1891-1901 Covers and cards bearing German stamps comprising 1891 (Dec 31) 10pf postcard with a fine Bagamoyo c.d.s; 1893 (July 3) cover with 25pf tied by Tanga c.d.s (edge faults); 1892 5pf postcard franked 5pf to Germany both cancelled by Kilwa datestamps; 1901 (Mar 22) coloured Gruss Aus postcard from Mukesa to Germany franked 5pf; 1901 (June 20) cover from Muanza to Germany franked 5pf pair; and 1901 (Oct 10) 10pf lettercard cancelled at Moschi with date altered in manuscript to 28.9.01. G.E.A stamps were issued in July 1893 but German stamps remained valid until the end of September 1901. A useful group. (6).

1893 5p on 10pf Carmine, 10p on 20pf and 25p on 50pf unmounted mint blocks of four (mounted in the margins only), the 10p and 25p corner blocks, all with value inscription in upper margin, the 10p in the scarce original shade of blue, also a 10p on 20pf mint block of four in the usual violet-ultramarine colour (crease to two stamps), fine and scarce unmounted marginal blocks. Deutsche Seepost. 1895-1914 Covers and cards (4), pieces (6) and stamps (3), issues of Germany all with Deutsche Seepost datestamps from the East Africa Line, including 1895 cover from S.S "Admiral" franked 20pf pair with "PAQUETE" handstamp of Lisbon, 1908 cover from Ibo (Mozambique) endorsed "via Daressalaam & Naples" with 10pf tied by Seepost c.d.s and "Deutsches / Schutzgebiet", etc. (13).

1895-1900 Covers comprising 1895 cover from Lindi to London redirected to Jersey franked 10p on 20pf; 1899 registered philatelic cover from Moschi to Germany bearing 1896-99 set of five; and 1900 cover from Langenburg to Germany franked 5p on 10pf, all fine. Also an 1898 Natal ½d newspaper wrapper to Dar-es-Salaam, endorsed "Not Hermansburg, Natal". (4).

1897-99 Postal Stationery postcards comprising first issue 5p on 10pf card from Tanga to France with Zanzibar transit c.d.s; second issue 5p on 10pf card to Delagoa Bay with Deutsche Seepost Ost Afrika Hauptlinie k cancel and Zanzibar c.d.s. of the same date; and coloured Gruss Aus picture postcards (3) all to the same address in Germany posted from Kilosa (3p on 5pf card of Bagamoyo), Saada or Marangu (both 5p on 10pf cards of Tanga), one a little stained, otherwise fine and commercial. 1900-02 Covers from George Gordon Hake to his wife in London, the first cover franked 1896-99 10p on 20pf (the stamp soiled, reused?) cancelled at Kilimatinde (14 Jan. 01), endorsed "By German Mail to the East Coast from Kassanga, 27-12-00"; the second cover with Yacht type 10p cancelled at Ujiji (July 8), endorsed "via Ujiji", Dar-Es-Salaam backstamps. The first a little soiled but an intriguing pair, both clearly from the interior of Africa and carried by runner. (2).

1903-15 Covers bearing Yacht issues with registered covers from Usumbura to Germany franked 2½h, 4h, 7½h and 15h or from Dar-es-Salaam franked 7½h + 15h; 1911 philatelic cover with scarce "SAME / USAMBARABAHN" datestamps; 1907 philatelic cover with Kondoa-Irangi c.d.s and proof strike of the Kondoa-Irangi Post Agent cachet on piece; commercial covers to Germany (4), G.B (3) or sent locally with datestamps of Muhesa (2), Usumbara, Bagamoyo, Mahenge (written at Songea), Songea, Mittellandbahn T.P.O (1915, large year date, Zug 12) or Usambaro T.P.O; also a 1910 cover from India to Muansa with arrival c.d.s and Mombasa transit c.d.s, and an unused Yacht issue stamp card. 1906-13 Registered covers to Germany comprising 1906 cover from Bagamoyo franked 1905 no watermark 45h, 1912 cover from Tanga franked 1905-20 lozenges watermark 2½h, 30h, 45h, and 1913 cover from Dar-es-Salaam franked 2½h + 1901 1r, the 1912 cover possibly commercial, scarce stamps on cover. 1903-15 Yacht issue postal stationery cards (8) and picture postcards franked 3p, 4h or 7½h, sent locally (2) or to Europe (9), two cards from Bukoba sent via British East Africa with transit datestamps of Mombasa; a 1915 card from Iringa to Berlin endorsed via a Portuguese ship to Lisbon, with red censor cachet and violet "50", apparently delivered after the war (file holes); other cards from Songea (2), Wilhelmsthal (written at New Bethel), Kilmatinde, Korogwe, Mohorro (blue-green c.d.s), etc. (11).

1916 7½h Provisional stationery envelopes with Tanga envelope used to Kihuhui, Morogoro envelope used with oval Mittellandbahn T.P.O datestamp (heavy fold, opening faults at left), front of similar envelope used from Mpapua, Dar-es-Salaam envelope uprated with 4h pair cancelled by oval Mittellandbahn T.P.O datestamps (stained, roughly torn along lower edge), also three pieces, a scarce group despite faults. 1899 (Apr 21) Commercial cover to Germany with first issue 20pf cancelled in manuscript, "Richthofen 21.4.99" written below, backstamped at Swakopmund and in Germany. A rare cover from one of the construction sites on the Swakopmund to Windhoek railway; during the construction of the railway in 1897-99 several such sites were given the authority to cancel stamps in manuscript.
