First Sino-Japanese War - Wei-Hai-Wei. 1896 Stampless soldiers cover (letter enclosed) to Japan with a fine Wei-Hai-Wei Military P.O No. 1 c.d.s in red, and 1897 1s postcard from Japan to a soldier in Wei-Hai-Wei with similar Military P.O No. 1 arrival c.d.s in black. (2).

Kiaochow. 1899-1911 Covers and cards including 1900 cover bearing China 2c + China overprint 10pf, 1900 registered cover with China overprint set of six (20pf 48_ overprint, others 56_ overprint), 1902 red band cover bearing Germany 10pf, 1903 red band envelope with China ½c tied by violet oval Kiaochow, etc. Also Russo-Japanese war related postcards. Boxer Rebellion. 1900-04 Covers and cards including card with stamps and cancels of seven nations, French Red Cross Ambulance in China stampless card from a French soldier, mail from German forces (15), etc. (19).

German Naval Mail. 1902-17 Covers and cards from ships of the German East Asiatic Squadron with various Marine Schiffpost cancels, also some postcards of ships, including S.M.S "Scharnhorst", "Gneisenau", "Nurnberg", "Leipzig", "Luchs" and "Tsingtao"; cover from an ex "Gneisenau" P.O.W in England; 1916 card from the "Liebenfels" interned in USA; cards and covers from the collier "O.J.D Ahlers" in the Dutch Indies or interned in Hawaii (3) or from crew members interned in the USA (2). Russian East Asiatic Steamship Co. 1909 "Hamburg Amerika Linie / Shanghai" envelope addressed to the Captain of S.M.S "Scharnhorst" at Tsingtau, with Russia 3k, 7k cancelled oval "PAROKHOD. OBSCH. R.V.A.P" cancel code "3" on the Vladivostock to Shanghai service, a second strike on the front, backstamped at Shanghai, Shanghai Local Post and Tsingtau, fine and very scarce. Photo on Page 132.
