1850-64 Austrian Empire issues, the used collection in an album with varieties and covers, including 1850 hand-made paper 1kr (5, one yellow, one printed on both sides), 2kr type I (4, one scarce silver-grey shade with Ferchenbauer Certificate) or type III (4), 1854 machine-made paper 1kr (2), 2kr (3), 1858-59 2kr type I (2, also one on cover crossed by heavy fold), and piece with 2kr type I + 3kr black type II tied by Raab c.d.s (Ferchenbauer Certificate), 2kr orange pair and singles (2, one on cover), 3kr black type I (7, one grey-black) and type II (6, one on cover, one with nailhead flaw, Ferchenbauer Certificate) and piece bearing 3kr black type II + 5kr with red cancels, 3kr green (8, two with red cancels, one on cover), 1863 2kr (2), 3kr, etc. A few faults though the majority are fine, a good collection with some useful stamps and covers. 1859 3kr Green used with Wien datestamp, the stamp printed twice with one impression albino, impressions of two partial stamps clearly visible on the reverse. A rare and unusual variety, signed by Anton Seitz with his 1951 Certificate stating that this is the only recorded example of this variety known used in Vienna (other examples all used in Pest), also with 2013 R.P.S Certificate. Vienna Pneumatic Post. 1875-1956 Covers and cards in three albums, the collection formed by Colin Tobitt which formed the basis of his standard book on the subject, showing the types of postal stationery issued for the pneumatic post, the cancellations, offices, postal rates, and use of ordinary letters and cards in the system. Comprising special postal stationery issue lettersheets and envelopes (79) with first type 20kr telegraph stamp stationery (12), envelopes posted in Prague (3), uprated envelopes, 1895 registered envelope, 1890 express fee with boxed "Botenlohn", 1891 unaddressed envelope with label; postal stationery postcards (188) with uprated inflation period cards, use in Prague (5), 1884-1904 "Botenlohn" on express cards (5), 1884 reply card charged 10kr for a delay of over 5 minutes in replying, 1901 "Aus dem Briefkasten", 1902 undelivered card with label, 1891 "FAVORITEN" c.d.s; postal stationery lettercards (84) with uprated lettercards, express fee paid with "Botenlohn" cachet, Prague use (3), "Aus dem Briefkasten", 1899 Officially Sealed lettercard; stationery issue telegram and receipt of sending card; and scarce privately printed pneumatic post envelope (Ferchenbauer Certificate), postcards (2, one used) or lettercards (4), some stationery unused, the majority however postally used. Also stamped mail sent by pneumatic post comprising envelopes (72) with 1919-25 inflation period showing rates up to 3500kr, covers from South Africa or G.B, 1938-43 use of German stamps, late use in 1956; postcards (50) with 1919-25 inflation period showing rates up to 2700kr, 1940-41 use of German stamps; lettercards (13) with 1920-25 inflation period showing rates up to 2500kr (1000kr + 25g); and stampless telegrams (2).
