1841 Entire letter prepaid from Cologne to Guernsey "p. private steamer from Southampton", backstamped red "Ship Letter London" datestamp, a scarce letter from abroad to the islands sent by this route.

1841-43 Entire letters from Jersey (2) and a cover from Stourbridge to Jersey all with Jersey backstamps, the letters from the island prepaid 1d in cash or franked by a 1d red (torn through upon opening) tied by a Maltese Cross, both backstamped "SOUTHAMPTON / SHIP LETTER", the stampless letter also with red "Paid Ship Letter London" datestamp. The cover (letter enclosed) to Jersey franked by a 1d red with red "Paid Ship Letter London" datestamp alongside. (3).

1843 Entire letter prepaid in cash from Guernsey to Trieste sent via Southampton, London and Boulogne with superb red oval framed "P-F" of Guernsey, backstamped at Guernsey and by "SOUTHAMPTON / SHIP-LETTER", red oval "Paid Ship Letter London" datestamp on the front. 1843-44 1d Pink stationery envelopes (2) and a cover franked 1d all from Guernsey, cancelled by a superb Maltese Cross or "324" (2), all with Guernsey backstamps, two backstamped "SOUTHAMPTON / SHIP LETTER". The 1d Pink Maltese Cross cover with light horizontal fold but still very attractive, the other 1d pink envelope with a few edge faults. (3).

1911 Small four page leaflet headed "Notice. Aerial Post" giving the prices of Aerial Post envelopes and postcards, where they may be purchased and posted and how they may be ordered by post. Very fine and unusual.

1911 Green and brown London postcards both from the second printing (with the instruction "Address only to be written here" raised by half an inch), the brown card written from Gamages with London 3 c.d.s (Sep 13), the green card with London 2 c.d.s (Sep 15), both fine.

A.M Miller. 1936 Stampless cover to Johannesburg with violet oval "CITY AIR PORT / 29 SEP 1936 / PORTSMOUTH", endorsed and signed "Carried on Percival "New Gull" 25 - AHM, Allister M. Miller, 29/9/36". Miller retired from the race at Belgrade after suffering fuel problems. Just five covers are recorded from his flight. Very scarce. Photo on Page 11. (Image1)

Tommy Rose & J. Bagshaw. 1936 Printed or typed covers bearing KEVIII stamps cancelled in London (Sep 28) and Egypt air stamps cancelled at Cairo (Oct 2), one signed on the reverse by both pilots, and a printed cover depicting Rose sent to The Robertson Stamp Co. in Johannesburg (numbered 5 of 6 covers) with G.B KEVIII and South Africa stamps all cancelled at Johannesburg (Oct 12), signed by Rose. Rose and Bagshaw retired from the race at Cairo when the aeroplanes undercarriage collapsed; 100 covers were carried of which 25 were posted at Cairo. (3).

Victor Smith. 1936 Cover to "L.A Wyndham, House of Assembly, Cape Town" bearing G.B 1/2d cancelled at Portsmouth (Sep 28) and South Africa 1d cancelled at George (Oct 9), signed by Smith. Smith had to retire from the race at Khartoum, but flew on to South Africa in easy stages. 35 Covers carried, all posted upon arrival. Also a press Photo of Smith and his aeroplane "Sparrow Hawk". 1907 (Oct 12) Daily Graphic Ballon Post, special postcard depicting the three aviators, signed by Charles Turner who was the Daily Graphic representative on the balloon, with "TOSSE" c.d.s and "T" handstamp, a 2d charge mark applied in the London Foreign Branch. Fine and scarce, these cards only used by the three aviators, very few recorded. Photo on Page 118. (Image1)

1934 (Aug 20) Railway Air Services first flight covers, all carried on different routes including Cardiff to Teignmouth or Liverpool, Cowes to Liverpool, Glasgow or Manchester, Southampton to Glasgow, Manchester to Cowes, Belfast to Glasgow, etc., two on postal stationery envelopes, all fine, written up on pages. (10).

1936 Unaddressed cover bearing an uncancelled KEVIII 1/2d, handstamped "FIRST East-West / WOMAN'S SOLO FLIGHT / Abingdon, England to / Louisburg - Nova Scotia / SEPTEMBER 4th - 5th 1936 / BERYL MARKHAM" and signed by Markham. Markham flew from Abingdon to Nova Scotia in 22 hours; 26 covers were carried on the flight. Also two contemporary news cuttings.

1918 (May 6) Stampless picture postcard of Guernsey endorsed from a member of the French seaplane squadron, addressed to Cherbourg endorsed "Service Air" with violet circular "ESCADRILLE D'AVIATION MARITIME DE GUERNESEY / (anchor)", almost certainly flown to France in one of the squadron's aircraft. IS. / PARCEL DEPOT" c.d.s), 1946 (June 19) Alderney to Guernsey first flight (40 flown), 1953 BEA first flights (15), 1954 Herm Island feeder service, 1954 BEA increased rates (2), 1964 Cambrian Airways first flight (2), 1965 first helicopter flights (2), etc., also a few hovercraft covers, commemorative and R.A.F covers, postcards, etc., some pilot signed. 1683 (Sep 6) Document superbly written on vellum appointing Edward Le Breton Captain and Commander in Chief of the militia on the island of Alderney, signed by Sir Edmund Andros, Seigneur of Samares, Bailiff and Lt. Governor of Guernsey (and also Governor of New York Province in 1674-81, New England in 1685-89 and Virginia in 1692-98), wax seal impressed with his arms. Also 1747 map of Alderney by Carey, 149x91mm, hand coloured. (2).

1809 (Feb 21) Entire letter from John Le Mesurier in Alderney to "Thos De Sausmarez, Kings Procurer, Guernsey" with "1" charge, minor staining, early and scarce.

1810 Entire to G. Priaulx & Co., Guernsey, with recipients filing endorsement "Aurigny, 10 Aout 1810, E. Seranne". Also 1779 entire to London with "WEY / MOUTH" and "29/MA" Bishop Mark, recipients filing endorsement showing it to be from "Havilland Le Mesurier, Weymouth" which has been altered in pencil to "Alderney" at some later date and so possibly from the island. c.1847-84 Pieces (4) and stamps (2), comprising piece bearing imperf 1d red tied by unclear Guernsey numeral and a fine "ALDERNEY" double arc handstamp alongside; 1858 pieces bearing one or two 1d reds each cancelled "965" with Guernsey backstamps; similar 1861 piece with 1d cancelled "965" and double arc "ALDERNEY" datestamp; and single 1d red plate and 1884 4d green both cancelled "965".
