1944 Cover to Engineer at Oak Ridge Tenn "K25" Plant, beat-up envelope addressed to PFC RJ Vogel at Ohio State Univ (Columbus, Ohio) but address crossed out, correction made to the Ohio State address, then forwarded to "PO Box 92/ Sta 5/ NYC, NY", Caterpillar Tractor printed cc, franked with Peoria, Ill May 1 44 meter, also the ms notations "S.O. 19" and "Par: 2" below the meter (refers to transfer orders), backstamped Columbus, Ohio May 3 1944, enclosure is a 2-page "morale newsletter" with news of Caterpillar employees stationed at various locations in the country, Fine and rare; also includes a copy of a letter assigning Pfc Vogel to the facility in NY City; quite rare with just a handful of covers known to this PO Box in NY City used for the Manhattan Project (Image)
