C12P, 1932 "Do-X" Flight Overprint Printer's Proof Sheet of the "TRANS-ATLANTIC/ WEST TO EAST/ Per "Dornier X."/ May, 1932./ One Dollar and Fifty Cents" surcharge, four impressions of the rejected first setting in red on wove paper (161x222mm), signed by printer "D.R. Thistle" and with notation "Pr. Dornier DO-X", a little creased but still Very Fine and unique; Ex-Harmer, MotsonrnTwo different printers proofs are known, both being unique. The first (offered in this lot) was rejected and the second accepted for use. The second accepted version changed "Dornier X" "Dornier DO-X" in accordance with the manuscript instructions seen on this rejected sheet. (Image)
