A wonderful collection housed in 6 albums all neatly arranged and identified by Williams numbers, a wide variety of towns are present including Alameda including manuscript postmark, Altamont including manuscript postmark on defective cover, Alvarado including manuscript postmark, Berkeley including manuscript postmark, a rare Brays on cover to Jerusalem, Brooklyn, Centreville, DeCoto, Dimond, Doherty, Doherty Station, Emeryville, Fruitvale, Golden Gate, Harrisburgh including manuscript & oval Town & County, Haywards, Haywood including manuscript postmark, Irving, Irvington including both type of Town & County postmarks, Livermore, Lorin, Melrose including manuscript postmark, Midway, Mills College, Mill's Seminary, Mission San Jose, Mount Eden, Newark, Niles including manuscript postmark, the very rare Nottingham postmark on defective cover, Peralta, Piedmont, Pleasanton including manuscript postmark, San Leandro including manuscript postmark, San Lorenzo including manuscript postmark and one of the rare oval handstamps (Williams ALA-4670), Sunol Glen including manuscript postmark, Tesla, Rare Union, Cal. manuscript postmark Warm Springs, Washington Corner's including manuscript postmark, West Berkeley including cover with Fancy Boot cancel, West End, West Oakland, included are registered usages, advertising covers, condition is generally Very Fine, but a great lot worth careful inspection.

Approximately 500 covers and cards in sleeves identified and priced (by collector) from the Northeast region; includes Plumas county includes 1882 Beckwith, 1888 Butte Valley, fancy 1883 Quincy cds and cross duplex in black and purple, 1860's usage to Canada, 1895 Summit to Switzerland, Sierra with Alleghany 1891 straight line with manuscript date, Downieville from 1860's, 1871 Fir Cap manuscript, Placer with 1885 Auburn, 1866 Michigan Bluff, Todd's Valley from the 1860's, Lassen with 1880's Hayden Hill, Shasta with 1870's French Gulch and 1881 Baird T&C oval, etc.; nice group, worth review.

California Postal History Balance. Large accumulation of cards and covers dating from Gold Rush days into the 1950's with a very few extending beyond, lots of Helbock scarcity ratings of 1, 2, and 3 although we did see a ratty Helbock 6, quite a few items identified by Williams numbers, several flawed Wells Fargo covers, lots of Doanes, 4-bars, and other small town cancels, a few interesting usages and/or ancillary markings, many of the "better items" with faint or partial cancels, retail values to $25, although most are much less, a good value for the club or show dealer and for the beginning collector.

A few hundred California covers with a few cards, organized by county and alphabetically by town within the counties, almost all are small town cancels with a few branch and station cancels, most are Helbock SI 1, 2, and 3 (or current) but we saw a few SI 5's (Cozzens, Hart), 4's (Eastland, Esmeralda, Bridgehouse, Cherokee, Quintette) and lots of 3's (Table Rock, Smith's Ranch, County Farm, Casa Verdugo, Tuttletown, Highland Springs, etc.), retail values to $25, but most in the $5 range or less, a good value for the club or show dealer and for the beginning collector.

Of approximately 120 covers and cards mostly mounted on exhibit pages; starting with with two manuscript postmarks with 1851 Napa City "5" and 1853 Napa "10" rates, first type "Nappa City" postmark (NAP-680) with a variety of rates, #15 and #11 strip of four usages, the corrected "Na pa City" (NAP-690) usages to 1869, comprehensive later usages including 1870-80's fancy star duplex, usage to Belgium, corner cards including illustrated, special delivery, 1898 allover flag patriotic, etc., generally F.-V.F. or better.
