2, 1861 10¢ blue and 5¢ blue (Scott 4), single of each, ample to large margins, tied by Richmond Va May 2 1862 date stamp on legal sized "Confederate States of America, Subsistence Department" semi-official envelope (CSA Handbook WD-SD-04) addressed to Genl T. J. Jackson Comdg Army of the Shenandoah, Staunton VA (also known as Stonewall Jackson), stamps pay the pre July 1 1862 under 500 mile rate for 1 1/2 ounces, cover was later turned and sent to Genl W. B. Taliaferro Comdg 3rd Brigade; cover has been skillfully repaired replacing the upper right corner including the word "America" and the edges all strengthened; includes a photo of General Jackson; Very Fine usage and a wonderful piece of Civil War history; 2016 Philatelic Foundation certificate (Image)
