1851 PAULINE JOHNSON RELATED CORRESPONDENCE, cover from Pauline Johnson’s mother (Emily Susanna Howells Johnson) who was visiting in CINCINNATI-OHIO and addressed to Pauline’s father (Mohawk Chief George Henry Martin Johnson) at his Inscorora Parsonage estate located 6 miles east of BRANTFORD-CW, posted at CINCINNATI on MAR1'1851 with routing via HAMILTON-UC on MAR 6th, a nice 4-margin copy of US #2 pays the 10¢ US 460 mile rate to the border exchange office at LEWISTON-NY + COLLECT 7d Ccy for the 75 mile Canada delivery from the QUEENSTON-UC exchange office to BRANTFORD, docketing on the inside backflap is by Pauline’s father, the lot includes reference copies of both Pauline’s mother’s and father’s handwriting from the Branford Museum archives, Scott cat $2000 US for an ordinary cover, a Canadian historical showpiece and VF ($1500 US) (Image)
