US BETTER POSTAL HISTORY ACCUMULATION. 450 postal history items showing a broad diversity of usages for the dealer or postal historian with items like Scott 68 on cover to New Granada (Panama) to steamer "State of Georgia", Scott 97 grill on 1869 cover to Liverpool, several Scott 10/11 covers including miniature lady cover and several better cancels (unchecked for recuts), Scott 93 grill on 1871 miniature cover, several Scott 94 grill covers, 3 Confederate items (including one in care of a Governor), 1880 to about 1900 several unusual advertising covers (including a baby carriage, Snoody Remedy, stove, etc.), Dakota Territorial, a large study of small bank notes (up to 15 cent value) and 1902/03 issues on album pages mainly showing registered or different rates and some destinations like India, Bermuda, etc., some possessions, 1930’s pair of mixed country commercial air frankings from Italy and Holland, some older official seal usages, better dues, miniature covers, Wells Fargo postal stationery, imperfs from the 1920’s in larger multiples paying commercial usage special delivery rates and several RPO usages with some very scarce ones noted, AEF Siberia usage, better early postal stationery usages (including a rare advertising item on 1876 envelope), stampless, even early 1900 marriage invitations with full enclosures. This lot has a lot of unusual and uncommon usages accumulated by a discerning postal historian over many years!

US 'OLD TIMER'S' COVER HORDE. about 2,000 postal history items from the 1860s to 1950’s with the lion’s share being the 1920’s period, with a tremendous amount of commercial special delivery usages, mainly cancelled by a diverse group of RPO cancels (several better) and franked by Washington/Franklin issues and Liberty issues, along with a large chunk franked by imperfs in multiples paying proper rates (quite scarce, including the black Harding issue) and better 1920’s 5 cent commems and special delivery values. Additionally a strong showing of mint and used p. sty of the time (some up to the 1950’s or so) with many requiring the specialized catalog to discover value. There are also other usages, like the 1860’s with mainly Scott 10, 11, and 26s on cover, some banknotes (large and small) and others. There are some with condition problems, but the bulk is good and the type of unpicked hoard that you rarely find these days!

SMALL 19TH CENTURY COVER LOT starting with an 1841 envelope with frank of Daniel Webster as Senator and an enclosure of an ALS being a letter of introduction, other items incl. #1 on entire folded letter from Boston to Portsmouth, better early covers include an impressive allover front multicolor illustrated legal size cover advertising The Eastman National Business College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., used from there to Ohio with two #65's for a double rate (edge faults to cover), incl. other interesting usages including a B.F. Stevens cover and a 4c Trans-Mississippi commercial usage, mostly F-VF.
