Manuscript postmark and matching "Paid 10" rating on 1863 folded letter datelined "Morganville, Polk Co Texas April 15th 1863" to Tiger Creek, Claiborne Parish La., long letter with excellent content with much detail on war, mentions a local man who was wounded in the thigh at the Battle of Sharpsburg, fine accounts of exploits of the local Polk County regiment, while criticizing both sides, writer bemoans the war and longs for Texas independence again, lamenting that "Southern and Northern Army murdering each other", Very Fine and interesting Texas letter.
