1819 (Sep 29) Entire letter from D. MacCulloch written from Sark to Nantes, landed at St. Servan with manuscript "Colonies par" alongside "34 / ST. SERVAN", very fine. MacCulloch writes "I send you somewhat about your Temple ..... It was written at Sark where I could have no books to consult - indeed in that respect I could be little wiser in Guernsey". A rare Sark letter sent via St. Servan, few examples of the manuscript "Colonies Par" recorded from that port. Photo on Page 206. (Image1)

1891 (July 18) 1/2d Postcard to London cancelled by Guernsey squared circle with fine "SARK / A" c.d.s on the front, apparently from an early postal historian, the message reading "Thought you would like a postcard with the Sark postmark - it is a scarcity"; and 1893 France 10c postcard from Granville (cachet of Louis Jouaull, Agent for the L & S.W.R Co. at Granville Station) to Paris, redirected to Sark and again to Jersey with Guernsey squared circle and "SARK / A" c.d.s (Sep 18) on the front. 1898 (May 14) Postcard from Reginald Bray in Chisledon, franked 1/2d to the Postmaster of Sark, requesting him to apply his postmark and redirect the card back to Bray in Forest Hill, which he duly did, the card delivered without charge. Handstamped "SARK / A" c.d.s to both sides of the card, and a Guernsey squared circle, two punch holes near upper edge, otherwise fine and unusual. Also 1902-03 picture postcards (4) all with KEVII 1/2d tied by Guernsey squared circles and "SARK / A" c.d.s applied away from the stamps, one card mentioning the arrival of the telegraph line to Sark (also a related newspaper cartoon).
