St. Louis, Mo., 1845, 5¢ black on greenish (Scott 11X1), position 5, a magnificent, completely sound four-margined example, without any of the flaws commonly found on these pelure paper issues; three margins full to large, the one at left large at top and just clear at bottom; with clean color and red cancels including a partial St. Louis postmark at bottom, Very Fine, Scott's used value is for pen cancels; the catalogue notes that handstamped cancels sell for much more, with 2018 P.S.E. certificate.
