THE FINEST EXAMPLE OF THE RARE 1916 1¢ PERF 10 UNWATERMARKED POSTAGE DUE ISSUE. THIS SUPERB STAMP HAS BEEN GRADED XF-SUPERB 95 BY THE P.S.E. — BY FAR THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED.

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing printed the 1¢ Perf 10 postage due stamps on unwatermarked paper for only a short time. Well-centered original-gum examples are exceedingly rare. This copy, with lightly hinged original gum, outstanding centering and fresh color is a condition rarity of the highest order. This is the highest grade awarded by both the P.S.E. (next highest is VF-XF 85) and the P.F. (XF 90). The grade of 95 XF-Superb is shared by no others. Scott $4,000
