740-749, 1¢-10¢ National Parks Issues, Lindquist Die-Sunk Prints, complete set of 10, each image is 4 3/8" x 3½" and each print is 6 1/4" x 5½" and each are in the same color that the stamp was issued in, with "HARRY L. PECKMORE" engraved at lower right of each print (he was the designer of the 1¢-9¢ issues). All beautifully preserved and with complete set of stamps #740-749, plus souvenir sheets #751 and #797. 1930s Stamp Essays (2) by, August Dietz, each is a 5" x 3½" white glossy card and signed "Aug. Dietz" in blue-black ink at lower right. The first design is 2" x 1 3/8" with a map of the U.S., reading "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA/POSTAGETHIS IS YOUR COUNTRY/DON'T LAY DOWN ON IT/BUT GET UP AND WORK/3 THREE CENTS 3". The second design depicts (2) busts in ovals and (2) horseback men, underscribed "THE LAST MEETING" and the busts "ROBERT EDWARD LEE" and "T.J. ("STONEWALL") JACKSON". At the bottom of this card is penned "Original Design submitted to the President: U.S. #788 is included to show the similarity to the final, adopted design. Note: "DIETZ" is inscribed in lower right corner of each design. August Dietz was the first president of the Confederate Stamp Alliance and created the Dietz Confederate States Catalog and Handbook of the Postage Stamps and Envelope of the Confederate States of America.
