Justice Dept., 1875 Special Printing, 1¢ purple, overprinted "Sepcimen" (error) (Scott O25SDa), without gum as issued, clean with pastel color and sharp detail; fresh and attractive, Very Fine, fewer than 100 can exist.

This error occured on some panes of 100, and was discovered and corrected part-way through the printing process. Our estimate as to the number existing is therefore high.
