1870 Entire letter from St. Malo to Guernsey endorsed via Jersey, with France 1863-70 30c cancelled "409", a fine first type "JERSEY / FRANCE / M.B / JY 22 / 70" octagonal datestamp alongside, backstamped in Guernsey the following day, very fine. Photo on Page 176. (Image1)

1899 Postcard written from St. Brenic to Guernsey and cancelled at Plerin, most unusually with third type "JERSEY / FRANCE / M.B / JU 15 / 99" octagonal datestamp in the lower left corner. Two light vertical creases, otherwise fine and an unusual use of the Jersey M.B in transit on a card cancelled in France, backstamped in Guernsey.

1936-39 Picture postcards of St. Malo to Jersey bearing French stamps, and two 1938 covers to Cyril Kidd in Manchester with G.B stamps, all with octagonal Jersey M.B datestamps, one of the "Kidd" covers with the datestamp applied away from the stamps which have been disallowed and left uncancelled, handstamped "3d / 409" with 3d postage due collected upon arrival. Also a single French stamp with central 1935 Jersey M.B datestamp in red, believed to be the only known example in this colour. (5).

1909-11 Picture postcards of Carteret or Granville to Jersey or Guernsey, both with French stamps cancelled by Jersey single or double ring datestamps. Also a c.1953 postcard of Dinard with a French stamp cancelled by Jersey machine, and 1863-70 single French stamps (9) all cancelled "409". (3 cards + 9 stamps).

1872 Entire letter from Cherbourg to Guernsey bearing France 1871 15c vertical pair (lower stamp torn) each cancelled "723" with octagonal "SOUTHAMPTON / FRANCE / MB / DE 21 / 1871" datestamp below, very attractive. Also 1904-12 picture postcards to Jersey or Guernsey with French stamps cancelled "SOUTHAMPTON / FRANCE / MB" c.d.s (4) or by a London c.d.s (on postcard of Dieppe) with a Jersey arrival c.d.s below. 1862 4d Pale red, CK with constant variety lower right "K" defective (appearing as a white square) used with large "1706" lozenge cancel of Granville. An unusual variety, probably unique with a French cancel. S.G. J52d, £550 as a stamp. Photo on Page 160. (Image1)
