142L1, Walton & Co's City Express Brooklyn NY, 1846 2c Black on pink, margins close to touching but showing four full frame lines, "City Express" has been crossed out with manuscript, possibly a cancel, otherwise uncancelled on c.1846 folded outer address sheet sent to Philadelphia; red Brooklyn N-Y Mar 27 date stamp at lower left and matching PAID 5 at upper right, cover with file fold at center which does not affect the stamp; Very Fine and exceptionally rare use; one of six recorded covers with Walton & Co's stamp, only three of which have rectangular margins;signed by Elliott Perry; 1999 and 2016 Philatelic Foundation certificates as genuine, 1985 Philatelic Foundation certificate declines opinion; ex-Golden (1999) and Kuphal (2006) (Scott $16,000) (Image)
