USA Far Back of the Book Collection - Shanghais through Telegraph Stamps - A collection received intact at the last moment with the owner's catalog value exceeding $26K. Starts with the Shanghai issues with K1-K12, K17 (all MH). The officials (SCV over $9000), newspapers/periodicals (SCV over $8000), and revenues (SCV over $5900) make up the bulk of the values with many presentable stamps like Scott O15-24, O47-56, O57, O59-60, O72-9, O81-2, O87-93, PR1-5, PR7, PR114-130, and more. The revenues hold a nice selection of a couple 100 issues to build on with many first and second issues, and later, wines, potato tax (RI1-13 unused), and a couple better consular service fee stamps. The telegraph section (SCV $1800) has many nice complete sets of note. As you go through this collection, the owner noted but didn't count faulty or questionable stamps in the stated catalog value, but still expect some faults in what he did count. This is a nice collection worthy of building upon or remounting since the pages have been written on. Some enjoyable viewing here. (Est $3500-4500) (Image)
