1860 California Fractional Gold Half-Dollar AU. An unidentified type. Certainly appears authentic though no reference for it could be found in the Breen-Gillio catalog. The Red Book mentions a version with words "California Gold" around a wreath (on the rev.) But on this coin, "California Gold" is inside the wreath. (Image)
