J68 1/2c Postage Due with April 15, 1925 RAHWAY, NJ machine cancel. Typed addressed to and serviced by then Clerk at Rahway, NJ with accompanying copy of "Statement of Employee's Record" from the Post Office attesting to his employment and thus certifying it's authenticity. Only previously known from Philadelphia serviced by Ward. We sold a similar cover in Public Auction #125 (May 22, 1999) for $1,955.00 ($1,700 + 15%) and another in auction #133 (December 1999) for $2,057.00 ($1870.00 +10%). Only 10 were produced - a fantastic discovery and a must for the Postage Due or Classic First Day Collector! (Image)
