Cinderellas. Cinderellas. United States Ephemera -- Lot of Eaton's Fine Letter Papers Cinderella stamps In 1938 Eaton Paper Company contracted the American Bank Note Company to engrave plates and make a series of 10 label stamps. The engraved scenes depict views of New York City and advertising for Eaton's Fine Letter Paper. The labels were to be released with the opening of the New York World's Fair. Unfortunately the labels looked so much like stamps that people put them on letters. The postal department demanded Eaton discontinue the stamps. American Bank Note Company destroyed the printing plates. A limited number of these stamps are available. Lot contains a full set and quantity of extras. (Image1)
