A VERY RARE ON COVER USAGE OF THE PHILADELPHIA OVAL 1¢ CARRIER HANDSTAMP USED AS A PRE-CANCELLATION ON A 1857 3¢ ISSUE.

This handstamp was applied to the selvage of the 1851, 1¢ issue to create the rare Scott 7LB18 city carrier issue.
