1683 (Sep 6) Document superbly written on vellum appointing Edward Le Breton Captain and Commander in Chief of the militia on the island of Alderney, signed by Sir Edmund Andros, Seigneur of Samares, Bailiff and Lt. Governor of Guernsey (and also Governor of New York Province in 1674-81, New England in 1685-89 and Virginia in 1692-98), wax seal impressed with his arms. Also 1747 map of Alderney by Carey, 149x91mm, hand coloured. (2).

Also 1779 entire to London with "WEY / MOUTH" and "29/MA" Bishop Mark, recipients filing endorsement showing it to be from "Havilland Le Mesurier, Weymouth" which has been altered in pencil to "Alderney" at some later date and so possibly from the island.
