Third Class Rate Covers 1925/48, five covers on exhibit pages showing various 3rd class rate uses; 1) cover with Passaic NJ 1c meter and "Extra -+c Paid" slug inserted in slot where date usually appears; 2) small envelope franked with 551 strip of three with Washington DC Apr 15 1925 machine cancel (1st day of 1-+c rate); 3) envelope with 551 pair tied by Plainfield NJ Apr 15 1925 machine cancel (1st day of rate) and charged -+c postage due (precancelled J68 affixed) rather than being held for add'l postage as required by 3rd class regulations; 4), locally addressed Los Angeles County Tax Collector cover with 1-+c Harding precancel franking and forwarded with addressee providing an additional 1-+c Harding for forwarding postage; 5) legal size envelope with printed Worcester Mass 1c permit with add'l "Paid 1-+Cents" below imprint, nice "Due 1-+c" pointing finger "Return to Sender" handstamp as piece went unclaimed and was returned to sender; Fine group; ex-Suffet (Image)
