Top margin single, o.g., never hinged, exceptional centering amid uncommonly wide margins, especially at top and bottom which normally impinges on design, rich vivid color and very fresh, an Extremely Fine to Superb jumbo, the only example to receive this jumbo grade by the P.S.E. with only two example higher (both 98), with 2014 & 2020 P.S.E. certificates, both Graded (XF-Sup 95J, SMQ $2,250).

A TRULY OUTSTANDING NEVER HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1857 1¢ TYPE V PERFORATED ISSUE.

It is interesting to note that no other never hinged example has ever receive a jumbo designation in any other grade except this one.
