1888, ADOLF ERIK NORDENSKJÖLD, handwritten letter (Stockholm, 17 Mars 1888) to book shop Liepmannssohn, Berlin, in which he orders an ancient Italian book from the current price list, enclosed the used envelope (parts at top missing). Adolf Erik Nordenskjöld 1832-1901 was a multi-sided scientist and Polar explorer of Finnish-Swedish origin. He was the first navigator to sail the North East Passage and to explore Greenland and Spitsbergen inland. (Image)
