1888, ADOLF ERIK NORDENSKJÖLD, handwritten letter (Stockholm, 17 Mars 1888) to book shop Liepmannssohn, Berlin, in which he orders an ancient Italian book from the current price list, enclosed the used envelope (parts at top missing). Adolf Erik Nordenskjöld 1832-1901 was a multi-sided scientist and Polar explorer of Finnish-Swedish origin. He was the first navigator to sail the North East Passage and to explore Greenland and Spitsbergen inland. (Image)

1910, Norway: 3 Øre orange, tied by cds HAMMERFEST, 10 VIII 10, together with Spitzbergen vignette "Österreichischer Lloyd - THALIA" in violet (diagonal crease), tied by "Thalia-Bord / Spitzbergen / 14.AUG.1910" on picture side of ppc addressed to Trieste. At the address side two strikes of double circle handstamp "ADVENT BAY / SPITZBERGEN". Fine condition

1938, USA. Lot of 2 picture postcards "MacGregor Artic Expedition 1937-1938", one used, one blanc, both with cancellation "Reindeer Point Greenland, March 27 1938". Little faults.
