Arctic: Byrd North Pole Flight 1926: Envelope privately carried by Byrd on the flight, bearing U.S. 2c. tied by one of two strikes of NY-Alesund “–9 V 26” c.d.s., later carried on South Pole expeditions with Byrd II 3c. on reverse cancelled by Little America Jan. 31 1934 and Jan. 30 1935 duplexes, vertical crease and roughly opened but very scarce, having been held for many years in Byrd’s personal archive.
