1900, EARLY BALLOON MAIL OF POMERANIA (POMORZE), ppc "Flying Balloon" written by Colonel Hugo Wilhelm von Abercron, dated 2.8.00, written over KOLBERG (KOLOBRZEG) at 1500m, sending greetings to his wife in Berlin (lower part of message was added afterwards, apparently not with fraudulent intention but as further explanation), franked by 5pf. green and postmarked "WALSLEBEN 9.8.00" (KORYTOWO) and Berlin arrival 10.8.00.
General Major Hugo Wilhelm von Abercron was one of the most important German Ballon Aviators, he also commanded Zeppelin, Parseval and War Airships. He participated several times in the Gordon Bennett Cup and received from Marburg University a honory doctor's degree for his merits as a Balloon Aviator. (Image)

1860/1939, deeply specialised collection on album pages, from nine copies 1860 10kop. blue/rose incl. dark shade, 1918 overprints for North Poland, South Poland and Wielki Polski showing alone apprx. 175 stamps incl. shades, types and varieties, 1919 Gniezno overprints, also the following issues showing a lovely degree of specialisation incl. types, shades, varieties and proofs. Souvenir sheets complete incl. 1928 Stamp Exhibition mint and used, 1938 Exhibition both sheets unused/used, 1938 Stratosphere Flight mint and on cover etc. Really a highly interesting collection which deserves a very close look!
