1861 Small ornamentic envelope used REGISTERED from Erinpoora to Umritsur, franked on the reverse by 1856-60 1a. brown and two singles 2a. dull pink all tied by numeral "150" in diamond of bars, boxed "REGISTERED/No." h/s, Erinpoora despatch cds and arrival cds all in red alongside, minor imperfections but still a very attractive and lovely registered cover.

1867 East India 6a.8p. slate used along with 2a. orange on mourning cover from Caicut region to London via Calicut and Bombay, tied by scarce Madras Circle Type 12 numeral (63?), with red indistinct dispatch cds, and hexagonal "S/CALICUT/FE 7/1869" transit d/s on back, similar Bombay transit dater and red London arrival cds on front. A scarce use of the 6a.8p. stamp on cover.

1872 Double-weight cover sent from the French Consular Agency in Tellicherry (blue h/s on back) to Torquay, Great Britain "VIA BOMBAY & BRINDISI" (blue h/s), franked 1868 8a. pale carmine pair (= 1r. rate for covers ½-1 ounce) tied by "TELLICHERRY/JY 15/1872"-"90" duplex, and on the reverse with Calicut and Bombay transit datestamps as well as Torquay '12 Aug 72' arrival c.d.s. Cover's back reduced at top, and cover opened three sides for presentation, but still an attractive and scarce item.

1875 (ca.), GB/INDIAN MIXED FRANKING: GB 3 P. rose (plate 16) on wrapper (opened up for better presentation, little reduced and normal shipping marks) from London to Bombay, there upfranked with Indian 1 P. (blue company security cancel), redirected to the post office "D. A.M. BOMBAY FEB 19", with cds "BOMBAY FEB 20 POSTAGE DUE 1 ANNA" sent via "I.DELY ALLAHABAD FEB 23" cds to "C 2 ALLAHABAD FEB ..." octagon-cancel, all up eight different postal cancels on this item, extremely uncommon usage as a wrapper and great rarity!!

1894, Official Telegram (endorsed 'O.H.M.S.' in m/s) used REGISTERED from Bombay to London, franked (for registration fee) on reverse with 1867-73 4a. green overprinted 'Service' in combination with 1883-99 ½a. blue-green overprinted 'On H.M.S.', tied with ''BOMBAY/F./SE.14/94'' cds. Red London Reg. arrival cds (1 OCT 94) on front. A very uncommon usage.

1854-56 Group of five East India stamps used in Burma, with litho ½a. pale blue, Die I, used in PEGU and cancelled "B/146", 2a. green (outer frame-lines at top and bottom) used Rangoon (B/156), and two singles of 1854 2a. green as well as 1856 4a. grey-black used in AKYAB and canc. "B/5". One of the 2a. cracket/broken (from top to bottom), the other imperf stamps with slightly cut/touched edges, the 4a. fine.

1850 Ornamentic four-page letter + cover sent from His Highness UTHRAM THIRUNAL MARTHANDA VARMA, the Maharaja of Travancore, to Major General Sir Henry Pottinger, Governor in Council, Port St. George, as a letter which was delivered together with a packet containing an Autograph Letter from the Maharaja to Her Majesty the QUEEN OF ENGLAND as well as the "State Chair" for her Majesty. Each page with a golden ornamentic frame, and signed "Your Sincere and faithful friend Martanda Vurmah, Rajah", the cover with Maharajah's embossed seal and a red wax seal. AN IMPORTANT MAHARAJAH COVER TO THE COVERNOR OF MADRAS (and the Cape Colony; formerly Governor of Hong Kong).
