POSTAL HISTORY: WWI registered covers including with German-type cds & straight-line h/s of 'Swakopmund' (on South African 4d Registration Envelope) or 'Windhuk', cover from Windhoek to the Red Cross in Switzerland, POW cover to Windhoek with 'Prisoner of War/Free of Charge/AUS' h/s and 'COMMANDANT/AUS/PRISONER OF WAR CAMP' d/s, and two unregistered covers; 1918 & 1921 use of South African Registration Envelopes 1) size H2 4d to Windhoek endorsed "Bookpost" with ½d tied by superb 'KLEIN WINDHUK' cds in violet; & 2) size H2 5½d to "Luderitz" with ½d & 1d x2 tied by recut German-type 'BETHANY' cds (from 'BETHANIE'), superb boxed 'BETHANIE' registration h/s, vertical fold; 1932 flights with use of Overprinted 1d Envelope registered to England with 'OMARURU' cds & 'AIRMAIL/OMARURU/ LUGPOS' cancel, from Windhoek to England registered with large & small pictorial cds, from Keetmanshoop to Capetown or Northern Rhodesia and one other in poor condition, also 1939 SWA-Angola First Flight.
