1882-1911 Large Chalons beautiful collection beginning with 2/- imperforate plate proofs x15 in various colours including four pairs, 'SPECIMEN' Handstamps x19 with various orientations to £1 x5, then the issued stamps by value across all issues comprising 2/- x2 (demonstrating how scarce these are), 2/6d x67 including seven blocks of 4 (one punctured 'OS' with the Perfins Inverted & Reversed), 5/- x52 including two blocks of 4, 10/- x26 including a pair & a block of 4 plus a plate proof in green, and £1 x29 including a strip of 3 which includes the Major Re-Entry [R1/2] SG 312a plus perforated plate proofs in blue (aged) or brown-purple single (CTO) pair & strip of 3. All the shades of the 1907-11 Crown/A issue are present including the rare £1 deep yellowish green SG 312d x3 (Cat £1800 each) and the condition throughout is generally very fine to superb. An outstanding collection that can be seen as a Gold Medal-in-waiting but that still has scope for development into something truly exceptional.
